Lasting Powers of Attorney allow you to authorise a trusted person/s to make decisions on your behalf and place the day-to-day administration of your finances with them.  This can be necessary if your health is poor or your mental faculty prohibits you from attending to financial affairs.

In addition to appointing someone to act in connection with your financial affairs, you also have the option to appoint someone to make health and welfare decisions for you as well.
